MEET THE COACH
Jamal Cooper, a proud St. Louis native, discovered his passion for football at a young age while playing for the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club. His talent and dedication propelled him to Hazelwood East High School, where he served as team captain and earned numerous accolades, including North County Athlete of the Year, St. Louis Defensive Player of the Year, and a Division 1 scholarship to the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
At Wisconsin, Jamal excelled both on and off the field. As a freshman, he earned Scout Team Player of the Year and Freshman All-American honors. Over his three years as a starting defensive end, he developed into a formidable athlete while completing his Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies.
Jamal has built a remarkable career in athletics and education, serving as a Head Football Coach, Defensive Coordinator, Assistant Football Coach, Strength and Conditioning Coach, and Head Track Coach, all at the high school level. In addition, he has worked as a Personal Trainer, using his expertise to mentor and prepare countless student-athletes for collegiate opportunities.
“The reason I got into coaching was to help build up the next generation and pass on all my knowledge and experience as a student-athlete.” - Coach Coop
